Randie D. Camp is currently a PhD Student in the department of Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State University. Her Master's and Bachelor's degrees are in Education with emphasis in Literacy, Social Studies, and Special Education. She teaches "Literature for Children" to undergraduate students at Iowa State University in face-to-face and online formats. Randie's research has addressed bibliotherapy in K-12 school settings, analyzing the effectiveness of diversity in a college-level course, and exploring mechanisms to improve the lives and relationships of minority populations. Randie collaborates with the Ames Public Library to offer workshops and materials related to using children's literature as a tool with children and youth to address social-emotional and other developmental needs. Randie is also on the Board of Directors for Raising Readers in Story County, a community-focused literacy initiative which supports language and literacy development in children from birth to age eight and nurtures healthy parent-child relationships.
