As the President of Decoding Dyslexia Iowa, I work with legislators and policymakers in our state to promote greater dyslexia awareness and better access to interventions for dyslexia in Iowa schools. In addition to providing professional development on dyslexia, I consult with parents and teachers on advocacy issues, assistive technology and how to best help their child or student.



I have a master's degree in Educational Psychology, am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and work part-time for the Iowa Child Advocacy Board. My dyslexia journey began six years ago when I learned that my husband, father and child all have dyslexia. Since that time, it has been my mission to help parents and educators learn all they can about the most common learning disability.
